Brian Lasater's Eldar

We'll start with the Farseer, a
fine centerpiece to any Eldar army, no matter whether
you're looking at it from a painter's point of view or a
strategist's. This nasty bastard has the most
single-handed kills of any miniature in all our
collections. Those of you out there who remember them
shrugging off blow after blow, and whacking your guys
with Mind War turn after turn, will know what I'm talking
about. Thank God for V3. |

Just a few of the fine-looking Exarchs Brian has done. Discussions of Codex cheesiness aside, the Eldar are really a painter's army. There's just nothing rushed or incomplete about the Eldar. Every character should look good-- should look great. This is not a munchkin's army. |

These Harlequins were a late
addition to Brian's army. I think Harlequins are his
favorite Eldar troops to paint-- again, because of the
uniqueness of each character. Golly, I can't even imagine what it's like to use more than three colors on a miniature! |

My favorite of all of Brian's
Eldar. Someday, when he learns how to use them
effectively, he may come to appreciate them as more than
pretty figures for painting. Brian has two squads of
these ladies painted up already and is looking forward to
the new V3 miniatures. Banshees are Brian's forte, as long as he's holding a paintbrush in his hand and not the dice. They should release these models without pistols sometime, maybe break Brian's nasty habit of running around shooting at things with them. |

I'd like to go on record as saying
the new V3 stats for these things are outrageous.
Downright silly. No point in taking Dark Reapers, ever
again. Even a bare-bones Wraithlord, with just shuricats
or flamers, is underpriced at 75 points. Next to the Farseer, this has the most kills in Brian's army, from Rogue Trader days on down to the present. I love getting killed by these things, though. It's such a graceful miniature. You can tell this was painted early in Brian's career. When he paints up a new V3 model I'll put it up. I think he can do better. |

A couple of Eldar Aspect Warrior
squads. The Dark Reapers have been around forever, a
favorite of Brian's army. Surprisingly enough, this is
one of the few Eldar I think he picked up for their
strategic value. They aren't particularly striking
miniatures. Brian's too lazy to write his own copy for these pages, otherwise I'm sure he'd be the first to point out that he didn't actually paint these Warp Spiders himself. He succumbed to V2 cheesiness and bought them already painted cause he wanted some death spinners. I don't think they've ever lived up to the hype on the tabletop. So now he has this black spot on his record. They don't even match the basic Craftworld color scheme he founded with his Banshees and Dire Avengers. Check out BatRep 003 for a typical example of their effectiveness in our gaming circle. |
